Laura and Ed were married at Belmount Hall on Saturday 12th July and here is an extract from a thank you we received from Laura’s father Jeremy:-
Isobel and I just wanted you to know how hugely we appreciated everything you did to make their wedding day so wonderful.
It really was a lovely occasion in every possible respect, and it was made totally manageable from our point of view because, put simply, you did all the work and did it so incredibly well! Your care and attention to us, in all the ordinary things as well as the obvious elements of a big occasion, were valued enormously – so much so that we are still thinking and talking about it and reflecting on the fact that, for us, you made one of life’s most important moments so perfect and so memorable.
So for it all, from us both, thank you so much.
Once again, the weather featured large… It rained heavily most days during the week leading up to the wedding day, and seemed impossible that Saturday would not be wet. Exactly on cue, after a beautiful sunny start and a dry day, large drops of thundery rain started to fall at 5.00pm, just as Amy and Matt arrived back at Belmount Hall after the ceremony at St Paul’s Church, Rusland.
Incredibly, however, after a couple of minutes, the rain stopped, and the Champagne and Canapes reception – for 120 guests – took place in front of the Hall. The wedding breakfast was served in the splendid Rusland Valley Horticultural Society marquee on the west lawn. The marquee had been erected by Amy’s dad, Angus, and helpers, and a fine job was made of it!
Another excitement was the wedding cake, which was served as the pudding, accompanied by strawberries and cream. For a number of reasons, Gillie has not, for a couple of years, been prepared to offer her delicious chocolate cake (much loved at Jumping Jenny – http://www.jumpingjenny.com – where of course it can be tasted any day) as a wedding cake, but she was delighted at everybody’s reaction… so it is now on offer again.
This wedding may have been more than a year ago, but I just came across this lovely email which was received when we were still building the new website:-

I ’ m not sure if you have a comments webpage for others to read but Diana and I would just like to thank you for all your help and the use of Belmount Hall when our son and his lovely bride got married. Your help and assistance helped to make the day an unforgettable one for our whole family.
I particularly want to thank you but also to say what a splendid venue Belmount Hall was for the wedding reception . It was comfortable, clean, friendly and welcoming. Your staff were discreet but effective and they functioned well as a team . This may seem a small point but is so important. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and complimented us on our choice of venue. (I had nothing to do with it!) It was ,of course Sarah and Garth who chose Belmount.
Once again, many thanks for your help and excellent management of the venue – it really was the icing on the cake .
